With the aim of achieving greater goal of developing an awareness and interest in the sport of sailing among the youth and all MUMBAIKARS and to establish Mumbai as an ideal international sailing destination, Army Yachting Node, Colaba is organising the “SAIL INDIA 2021” a Senior National Championship wef 09 to 15 December 2021 at Girgaum Chowpatty, Marine Drive, Mumbai wherein more than 125 sailors would be participating and competing. Along with them about 50 supports persons and 20 Officials will also be part of the regatta. This event is being conducted under the aegis of the Yachting Association of India to which the Army Yachting Node is affiliated.
Army Yachting Node was raised in 2001 as part of the Indian Army’s Mission Olympic Programme and has many accolades to its credit to include many National champions, Asian Games medals, medals in international Championships, Olympic Participation, and creation of the largest number of trained Sailors, Officials and Coaches in the country. With the motto of “Excellence Everywhere”, AYN has established a very high benchmark in sailing in the country through sheer hard work and dedication.
